Panic! at the Disco – This Is Gospel Lyrics 9 years ago
I think the song is about an attempt at acceptance.

The fallen ones locked away in permanent slumber - acceptance of those who have passed.

The line Assembling their philosophies
From pieces of broken memories

The only reason one would term it as broken memories is if the person you share the memory with has passed, thus you are trying to desperately remember how they were, how they lived, "their philosophies".

"If you love me let me go
If you love me let me go
‘Cause these words are knives that often leave scars
The fear of falling apart
And truth be told, I never was yours
The fear, the fear of falling apart"

If you love me let me go, would be what the deceased would want. When someone passes, you're trapped inside your own grief. Repeating every memory, the good and the bad. All those I love yous. I miss yous are like knives because you know you'll never hear that person say them again. Let's be honest, we think the people we love will be with us forever, they are ours. He is mine and I am his. When one dies it would be normal to feel like he was never yours, why would he leave you alone if he was? That's the fear of falling apart because you know there's no one to put you back together.
