Guy McDonough who both wrote and was main singer of this song was a Heroin user who'll later loose his life at the age of 28 due to both his drug use and battling HIV infection/AIDS (contracted via continue needle sharing). Initially they claimed that the song was about infidelity but later on from sources including from both his brother William 'Bill' McDonough 2nd/Jnr and Australian Crawl Co founder and lead singer James Reyne mentioned it was about hiding a drug addiction and in a number of ways was a part autobiography song about Guy McDonough himself. James Reyne still performs this song as main vocals on stage in honour of his former school and band friend to this day as part of the James Reyne band. Other current members also include- Tracy Kingman- Session and Backing Vocals Brett Kingman- Acoustic and rhythm guitar (a role which Guy McDonough was renowned for) Andy McIvor- Bass guitar John Watson- Drums |
