Wow, if people can't understand these metaphors, then they should take a course in addiction. Let's begin, shall we? First off disassociate the hook for the time being, and lets look at the first meaningful lyrics. "You cut me off, I lost my track, it's not my fault I'm a maniac." Now being cut off can mean a lot of things, so can lost my track, but together it refers to herion. When somebody ties you off, it's refered to as finding your track, so you can inject the drug. When someone is unable to find their track, they become unreasonable. The other lyric that supports this is "I'll check in tomorrow, if I don't wake up dead." This acknowledges the addiction, and refers to rehab. When someone is high from herion, they can pass out and die. Even the lines: "I'm outside the door, invite me in, so we can go back and play prentend. I'm on deck, yeah, I'm up next. Tonight I'm high as a private jet." pretty much sums up what is actually going on. Seriously, I can't believe nobody figured this out. |
