I think it's about losing someone who is very dear to you, like a family member. Some sentences are very strange, but I think it reflects the different kind of relationships you can have with family members like grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters. Lyrics like 'put my in my place', 'dancing at a funeral (I hope the person died of very old age and death is the relief), 'watching through my fingers' and 'every stumble and each misfire' reflect the mixed emotions one could feel in different relations and in losing someone you love. |

The song is about dancing and drinking before going away. Going away could be leaving the club (where the last drink and dance take place) or even losing grip (because of alcohol). Drake sings OT, this could mean several things: - Out of town - Overtime - Allright (see Urban Dictionary: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Ot ) - 'no' in Yoruba, a language spoken in Nigeria, where Wizkid is from Source (Dutch) http://www.3fm.nl/nieuws/detail/365187/Wat-betekent-OT-in-het-nummer-van-Drake%3F I think the song can be interpreted two ways: 1. Alcohol taking over. Addiction, losing control. 'I have powers taking ahold on me' could mean that alcohol is taking over, taking control of him. Hennessy is cognac. 'I pray to make it back in one piece' shows that he is destroying himself with alcohol. 2. Having one more dance before leaving the club with a girl. The girl sort of got him under her spell. |
