| I don't know why I love this song so much. It's about a man so lazy he wouldn't hoe corn, or in todays world, a man so lazy he wouldn't work and provide for himself. He seems to feel that it's just bad luck that he lost his corn not his laziness. He can't provide for a wife and family, yet he wants one. When rebuffed he's angered and threatens the woman, "you'll rue the day you were born." Seems like a classic abusive loser to me, but I just can't help loving this song. | |
