@[RachelLea:40574] the song title is called rush. It\'s the rush of a drug. Being addicted to a drug. This song is a convo between the drug and its user. I rush for you to make you feel good. Sounds so seductive. Not the first time a song about heroin sounds like that. Have you heard placebo\'s my sweet prince? \r\nIt\'s a back and forth convo between the the drug and the user. The guy is saying he\'s in agony and lies to get his fix and feels ashamed. But the drug says "but i give you a rush and get you high. I do it for you. I make you feel good." So seductively evil... it\'s like the guy is pleading to be freed from the drug. But the drug says but I make you feel good and the guy gives in... \r\n"I come up to meet you\r\nUp there somewhere = getting high\r\nWhen I rush to greet you\r\nMy soul is bared" = feeling like your soul left your body or maybe it means he did die by ODing\r\n\r\n"Gave more for you \r\nDropped my crutches and crawled on the floor for you\r\nWent looking behind every door for you\r\nAnd because of the things that I saw for you\r\nI spiritually grew"\r\n\r\nAn addict will do anything and give up anything to get his fix. Even crawl on their hands and knees of they have to...And bc of the things that he experienced just to get the drug meaning the time dave ODed and was brought back to life, he spiritually grew. That experience put life in perspective for him and made him realise that the reason for his unhappiness was the lack of a spiritual connection with God. He "spiritually grew". |

@[blynx:40572] doesnt have to be using drugs to write a song about it. Martin is very sensitive and observes the behavior of a bandmate he\'s close to... it\'s enough to be able to write a song for it... rush is the rush you get from the drug like heroin. It sounds like a convo between the user and the drug itself. Kinda like the angel and demon where the demon (drug) is whispering in your ear to do something even though you shouldn\'t and it\'s saying "but it\'s good for you... it will male you feel good... dont you wanna feel good?" And the guy saying I would even crawl and look everywhere to get some... but also his experiences while using drugs led to him learning more about himself (not necessarily recommended but worked in his case) and he spiritually grew. When you OD (as dave had) and are brought back to life, it will put things in perspective for you and you grow in every way. A lot of the time what ppl lack is a spiritual connection with God which leads to their unhappiness. Those with a spiritual awakening and developing a relationship with God, tend to be able to find peace of mind and happiness. |
