It's a tribute to Andrew Wood his close friend from the band Mother Love Bone and Malfunkshun who died from complications of a heroin overdose. Temple of the dog was a tribute to Andrew who was fighting a battle with heroin addiction. The song is about poor Andrew (Landrew Lovechild) R.I.P you beautiful souls Chris and Landrew.
