Finally someone that knows how to listen and interpret. Seriously, I believe most of their songs are about this very struggle of his. How could he not write about it? |

I hope you eventually learned, this song is not happy. Its not about god, its not about a woman, its not about any stupid mindless thing you think of. Its about a life affair with heroin. Don't believe me, go find some, shoot just a tiny, come back in six months and tell me how ya feel. |

You're all so naive and ignorant. But good, its good none of you understand what and why he writes what he does. Only a heroin addict knows how a heroin addict thinks. Sorry to come down so hard, but all those songs we all love singing to, all those songs you've never had the slightest of a clue what he's talking about, there about being an addict. Think about it,..hes struggled since the late 80s with it, and before. It doesn't even take a month to become your way of life, your way to survive. Its now 2016, and the struggle never ends. Most all his songs revolve around his struggle. I wish I was still blind as you all, I wish I never did it. I hate knowing what its like, and I hate knowing that pain.. I wish I heard that pretty guitar and and words that were just put together to sound happy. I wish these songs I love of theirs didn't remind me of the life I've been living and the feelings I've felt. Sad thing is, everyone of us are the same, every heroin addict does the Sam thing and we all share the same anguish for our lives, and we all hate it so much, but were all stuck, and afraid of tomorrow, afriad of waking up, cuz we know without it, we can't work, can't play with our kids, and we'll never enjoy life again. Help sounds good, but help never last forever. |

Yeah not about jail. "Hands are for shaking not tying" probably relates to tying off to shoot. But either way, heroin does imprisson you. "How would i know this could be my fate" I feel is saying you don't expect to be an addict when you first try it, you dont think one day its gonna make you so sick, that you'll do anything to fucking get it. Heroin is the worst drug there is, its the devil, I hate it. But that's because I use. You want help until your 3 days in and you just can't do it, cuz the pain, or because your being obligated to work or some shit, how you gonna work when walking up 4 steps is a work out .... |

You guys are dumb. Look, he was a heroin addict, it takes your life over, its a huge deal. So for him to write a lot of songs about it is normal. Just because there's a dude playing with spoons in the music video, doesn't mean its about him. OK look, this song came out a long time ago, I would hope he's clean nowadays, but its eàsy to relapse. "Steal the rhythm while you can....speak the rythym on your own....speak the rythym all alone" the rhythm is his mind and body. Steal his life while it can, its all that they listen to(that calling) and its leaves them with nothing, hense speak the rhthym all alone.
"All my friends are Indians, all my friends are brown and red" how would that be about a musician playing spoons? No! Heroin comes from opium, which comes from India and the middle east. Brown and red refurs to the dope is brown, and the red is blood when he draws back, to shoot it. "Save me I'm together with your plan" so you think he's asking a musician playing the spoons to "save" him? No! "Save me" either from the mental torment of simply wanting it, or save him from the dawning withdrawal."I'm together with your plan" hes wanting the heroin. |

No, it was prevalent then, and is now. He was a heroin addict. Why would he write a song about some dude playing spoons? Did you read the lyrics? People are so dumb, you hear black hole sun, And think its about the sun with a black hole in it, you see a guy playing spoons and assume, like a child would, that the song must be about that guy playing spoons! They are artist dude, real song writers don't write shit that simple and meaningless to them. He had a problem with heroin, so that's what he wrote about, and even if he doesn't do it anymore, he probably still writes about it, because that's how much this devil drug does to your life, it messes you up, long after you kicked it your still gonna have some mental scars, from shit you did to get, the people you screwed over, the friends you gave CPR to countless times...I'm telling you listen to burden in my hands by them. |

Same goes for "Burden in my hands" And I bet you wouldn't believe me when I say, The Red Hot Chili peppers...they might have one or two songs that are not about heroin addiction. When it takes everything from you, and you can't seem to kick it for 2-20 years, you bet your ass your gonna write most of your songs about it, if your a song writer. Thank you for your time. |
