@[chilimak20:15165] Your exactly right! I've a been rock musician/songwriter since the late 80's. It's basically a break up song in different packaging. He's saying, they were once together, she calls him out of the blue just when his heart was healing & thought she might restart their relationship & is talking about marriage etc. He's at the point where he's isn't quite over her & unfortunately vulnerable enough to take her back regardless of how the relationship ended. He's pretty sure that if he takes her back, she'll break his heart again. So he's thinking out loud, "do I try this again? Can I love her all over again? Will it be different? Seems we've all been there. Music is timeless & regardless what the writer intended, we all have our interpretations of songs. That's the beauty of music.... :(Rexx Anthony Michaels) |

I've been a rock musician/songwriter for 2 decades & written plenty of "broken heart ballads" when Brett says Hemorrhage in my hands" it's a medaphor for a person stuck with a bleeding/broken heart. In this song the girl decided to dredge up her past perhaps inadvertently finding she had feelings or didn't no closure with her last love. Her current boyfriend warned her that if she goes there he won't be waiting. Also, just because the songwriter has tbeir meaning, it can mean whatever you want to u... I believe f you connect emotionally to a song, "it's yours". Songs have been around for thousands of years. I say they're what emotions would sound like & so have many others. Music, was invented to accompany stories to keep them interesting & easier to recall. The way you interpret them is up to you... That is the beauty of music. It is timeless and it can bring you back to a moment as if it happened yesterday. It's one of the most special things we human beings have to keep us connected to our past. In one of my songs on my 2nd CD a long time ago there's a line that reads,"IF I'VE LEARNED ANYTHING FROM LOVE, IT'S HOW TO LIVE WITHOUT IT".... (Rexx A. Michaels) |
