Thank you for that. It seems very accurate. I first heard this song back in the early 90s and wasn't exactly sure what it was about, but I thought it had some spiritual or religious meaning. It wasn't just the lyrics that gave me that idea. The style and harmony in the song reminded me of music i heard in church as a child. I immediately loved the song. What I hear her saying is God accepts me or Jesus even if the atorities don't. Its very poweful and it doesn't come from a place of hate. Thank you. |

| I saw an interview with Phil Collins in which he described the song as being about an alien abduction...believe it or not. They use the ghosts on the screen in concert because they feel that the aliens would scare people. | |
