Dont know how deep the Devils intended this song to be but it seems to me to be about the tendency for society to build up people as curiosities, freaks, celebrities, only to then enjoy tearing them down. "Without a face or story of your own" "and then we chased you from the hall" "are you the one or should we find another?" Countless celebrities or idols are praised and celebrated until their time is up then they are discarded, but the narrator seems to be empathizing saying he would've kept the secrets, we're your friends, he might have stuck around past the "sell by" date. |
