A-Ha – Take On Me Lyrics 6 years ago
@[ghlyrics:32952] Not morbid at all and I don’t even think it’s a question. This song is about the importance of living fully. That can certainly mean love, among other things! For New Years, I just shuffled my extensive song collection and the first song that came up was this one. I love it. Take on Me 2020!

Jet – Move On Lyrics 9 years ago
Our son just returned from his second tour in the Middle East. Witnessing his detachment from the people closest to him and his slow "recovery" both times he's been deployed and his intense focus on his country and his life. The fact that he is going to be moving on to his new home where he'll be stationed next and beginning his life yet again, but with his girl this time. That is what this song reminds me of. I know that when I see him for this short time, and as we grow close again with the little time that we have together is bittersweet! Both of us knowing he'll be moving on "before we meet again " Makes it a real heartbreaker for me as a dad. When the singer says "if you'd have only seen..." - well, since I have never served our country in the military it makes me wonder about all of the things he has seen that has changed him in so many ways. I'm grateful for the song just because it helps me see things through his eyes if only through my own projection of these lyrics and this melody and how I feel when I hear it. I had no idea the song was 12 years old, just heard it for the first time while he was here and we were hanging lights out in the backyard together!
