| I think he's saying that he is too naive to keep the relationship going. He is going to make a lot of mistakes and that they will disagree at a lot of points. He wishes to change who he is, become a better person; more mature. He is expecting her meanwhile to take care of things, be the adult. To make them remember the old emotions of love when they are falling apart. He wants her to invest herself and make their relationship work so hard; to the point that people would call her a king of fools.
