The boarding/magnet school described is The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM) which the band's drummer attended. The screamed line just prior to the last verse "take a tip from johnny, at least he's still alive" refers to another Bombadil song "Johnny" in which the titular character self-harms (e.g. "writing on his arm with a knife"). |
