@[LDG:14171] i agree but i would also add that perhaps the reason he became what he hated was a case of over ambition. the line "HIS FIGHT MUSIC FOR THE FIGHT" indicates that he used music to perhaps psych himself up but that gradually became a vessel for cockiness, and the cockiness fueled by his rage for the bullies was what lead him to become one himself |

You could see the song in many ways, and i feel that that is the point of this song; it is designed to suit the listeners own struggles. "in to the flood again" can be seen as a person regressing back into either a past relationship that could have been abusive or even one where there is an imbalance in the love. A second meaning that fits is returning to a drug addiction as others on here have pointed out. A third may be a job or lifestyle that is hated by the individual but they feel is necessary. Any of these meanings fit the idea of a past experience that was terrible but seems either necessary or addictive. The person concerned knows they are making a mistake but feels the need to continue and although they have regrets the want this aspect of their life back. Any scenario where this is the case can be used as the songs meaning by a relevant listener. |
