Tremonti – Leave It Alone Lyrics 9 years ago
I think this song is about having a relationship, either with friends, family, or a significant other, that is so violently up-and-down that you wish it would just end for good.

Both the opening line "Throw me aside and I'll leave it alone" and the chorus "Once I feel it, once it's in my head, I know/This time I'm leaving for all the times that you did before" seem to be begging for a relationship that has caused so much suffering to finally become irreparable, just so they can "leave it alone" and be done with it. The verses talk about the feeling of trying again and again to get through the rough times and get back to what once was, with lines like "Retreat inside until the threat is gone" and "And where in the world has our good fortune gone?/We've got to find it some way." But at the same time, it laments wondering what's the point of building it back up just to fall apart again, especially with "But may the rest of our days somehow reveal that it was all just a waste."

This could be Mark talking about his relationship with Scott Stapp, as this was written in 2012, right around when relations between them cooled again after making up in '08/'09.
