For me it sounds that he's addressing his lovers' ex. They won't move on and let her continue her love life without them, and this song is the sentiment telling this old flame to burn out. "Quit if you're through with it" couldn't ring more true, if you're no longer in love then let them move on. I was recently in a relationship where my lovers' ex was hanging onto friendship, when it wasn't healthy for either of them. They stopped talking when we got serious, but I think she creeped back in, "quit if you're through with it, you're gonna make me sick." He left me and I'm heartbroken, because now he's trying to maintain a friendship with me also. |
