| Dinosaur Jr. – Feel the Pain Lyrics | 6 years ago |

This is a song about the destruction of the self and others. When you get so lost in your self pity you just can't let go, and you recklessly go on with your stupid game despite what it might cause to others (portrayed by the videoclip, where two men play golf in NYC, probably the most unsafe place to practice golf). Still, there's a sense of guilt ("I feel the pain of everyone"), but "then you feel nothing" because you're still playing your stupid golf game and you have to carry on with it. In the Spotify version, you can hear a cork bottle being opened before the song, which might suggest that this reckless game of destruction is particularly alcoholism. |

| Muse – Uno Lyrics | 9 years ago |

As evident as it might seem, the song transmits a deep feeling of bitterness and anger as a result of a non reciprocal love. The poet feels enraged, probably because the loved one doesn't only not correspond him, but ignores him: "And you don't know what you've done But I'll give you a clue" The point I would like to point out the most is that I think there is an interesting connection between the title, lyrics, the writer's personal experiences and the song itself: First of all, the title: "Uno" means "one" in spanish, and there is apparently no direct reason for calling the song "Uno" instead of "One". When I listened to the song, the rhythm and melody of the bass line at some points somehow reminded me of a Tango. With all this in mind, I've arrived to the conclusion that the song was composed for a particular person that probably speaks spanish, which would explain the title choice; and the Tango-like bass hints that this person could be indeed, Argentinian. Maybe the poet (Matt Bellamy) was in love with an Argentinian girl who didn't love him back or, at least, didn't seem to care as much as him, which made him angry enough to write this powerful and bitter song. |
