seems to be about someone who wants to be with someone who has been through something bad, someone who knows what happened and still wants to be with this person. so one speaks comforting words to the other but is too afraid to say "i love you" because that would push the other away because you are comming too close for comfort. so instead of saying "i love you" he just says "i'll be there for you" |

the devil is in the details, while the song generally seems somewhat uplifting, theres the overarching \'please take me away from here\' part that shows that the singer does not infact want to be where he is. because everything is not as it seems, as he says. so things are not as happy go lucky as the song pretends it is, sounds like manic depression to me, with the outward appearance of happy go lucky but with an underlying feeling of sadness and despair, just wishing to get out of whatever it is he is going through. |
