Red Hot Chili Peppers – I Could Have Lied Lyrics 5 years ago
This song imo is about trying to make sense of a failed relationship, the singer trying to prove that their love was the real deal, and perhaps describing a strong friendship that was cut off completely after the singer became comfortable enough to come out of their shell & express how they really felt, scaring the other person away for good. A song about loss. I especially like the part
"...A mountain never seems to have The need to speak, a look that shares so many seek..."
Which reinforces how words just can't express the pain or the truth in every situation, and while saying the wrong thing might have lead to such a miserable outcome, only a look and raw energy comparable to those found in nature can show the true face of something as beautiful and powerful as love and bring it back. I feel like this line in particular corresponds with Anthonys Native heritage. I've always loved how other cultures especially Native Americans, connect between the natural world & our own mind/body/spirit.
This song has always been deeply personal to me, I've played it so many times, specifically the live version at the Rolling Rock Fest in Latrobe, PA in 2000. Great performance and probably my favorite RHCP song. Certainly one of their most underrated.

Soja – Everything Changes Lyrics 9 years ago
Don't be selfish, and change the world by changing how you treat others because roles could be reversed and you could be in a less fortunate position by the next morning. Treat other how you want to be treated regardless of their situation and don't judge. Lyrics are pretty straight forward.

Most excellent message. We should all be free to be ourselves without fear of judgement and recognize that everybody on this earth is going through their own struggle..

Our Lady Peace – Clumsy Lyrics 9 years ago
@[egoat711:13733] love that analogy, how instead of using his hand to help he's just using it to wave. I still take it like it's about a friend who has suicidal tendencies and doesn't realize there are friends around to help if they want it, or wave goodbye if they don't. In the end there has to be the realization that there is a choice to be made and there are options one way or another (hence the lines 'maybe you should sleep' versus 'maybe you just need a friend')
