This reminds me of two people, one person who was a victim to some illegal experiment, and the other person who conducted the experiment in the first verse - "A little dream of mine, a little nightmare of yours"- and the subject is trapped someplace. The experiment has something to do with sleep, hence "sloom", which means a light rest. The subject refuses to cooperate in the experiment, and the person who created the experiment is considering killing the subject, and the subject tells stories to delay the killing. Months later, the subject has a chance to escape, but in order to do so she must try to forget it happened and forgive the conductor of the experiment. The subject is thinking of what will happen if she does not succeed, and thinks of her family. Sounds crazy, but that's always what I think of when I hear it... |
