"Stones that I carry around. Every stones' a story, It weighs me down" These song was played in a sad reference not many can understand. The stones are depicted as objects that can hurt people. In HIMYM, Barney had hurt many women in his lifetime. 236 probably till he found Norah. So when he found her, he actually had feelings for her. And he couldnt bear hurting someone he actually has feelings for. So he didnt meet her again, irrespective of how much he wanted to. This happened because he himself realizes how hollow he felt after hurting so many women. A totally different kind of 'hurt' that comes possibly from guilt. So possibly, Barney is depicted as the 'stone'. I can be totally wrong but. |
