To me, the meaning is very obvious, but I might just be projecting my experiences onto the song. I think it's about a pretentious person who thinks of themself as a philosopher or genius but is actually shallow and self-absorbed. They think they have strong morals and are a great person but their theories and beliefs are unhelpful and are just a way to boost their ego by making them feel morally and intellectually superior. They're preaching their "philosophy" to her but she can tell it's worthless because they're not actually a good or helpful person and only actually care about themself. She's angry about the condescending way they treat her. |
