We all know about how Tyler wrote this for Jenna. In this song, Tyler puts up a barrier around his heart, only for Jenna a 'butcher with a smile' to constantly remind him that he's alive through emotion. Anyway you interpret it, it's still beautiful!!

Twenty One Pilots – Polarize Lyrics

I kind of think this song is an apology (I wanted to be a better brother, better son). In the second verse, Tyler talks about what 'polarize' means to him. He says: "Polarize is taking your disguises, separating 'em, splitting 'em up from wrong and right, it's deciding where to die and deciding where to fight". Polarize is, too me, a song about trying to be a better person, fix your mistakes. Similar to Fairly Local where he discusses knowing the difference between evil and good, I guess. Also, I feel like this song is connected to Addict With A Pen. Bottom line... Moving on taking control of these problems, which could essentially for this album mean kicking Blurryface out.

I feel like this song is self explanatory. But, the way I see it is how young people deal with the pressure to the 'real' world and growing up. In an interview once, Tyler actually said this song was originally about one of his brother's and Tyler as kids!

Basically it's about friendship and having somebody in your life to stick with you, through thick and thin (I need to know, that when I fail you'll still be here). This person also makes a difference in the narrators life, reconsidering their death wish (I used to say I wanna die before I'm old, but because of you I might think twice). Obviously for Tyler, this person would be Josh; hence all the hair talk XD

Twenty One Pilots – Friend, Please Lyrics

I think that this song is about, like many people already mentioned, is about a friend of the speaker's who is dealing with depressed or suicidal thoughts (I know you want to leave but friend, please don't take your life away from me). But, the speaker [Tyler] won't leave them alone, or is trying to help them by letting them know they are not alone ('Cause I just wont let go 'til we both see the light). However, by saying 'we both' this could mean both people are struggling and need each other to try and keep going.
