Coil – Where Are You? Lyrics 8 years ago
this could be about someone addicted to drugs. sleazy talks about how they started doing drugs because they were looking for some way to feel ecstatic without having sexual intercourse in the time when AIDS was on the rise.
he talks about this here:

just read those lines with that idea in mind... kind of obvious, isn't it?

"are you surrounded by things we cannot penetrate?"

"Your fear of death attracts such strange objects
Smothering you, hiding you, don't let it spoil you"

"If you can't get enough of your hypnotic injection
Then it's time to put an end to this invalid function
Poor little ghost boy
Let me be your human toy"

The Radio Dept. – The Worst Taste In Music Lyrics 9 years ago
i think sussu's interpration makes sense, but it doesn't have to be an ex. the narrator could also think his girlfriend is falling in love with someone she is seeing on a regular basis, maybe at work or in school - "you race down the stairs in the morning" -> she's getting ready in the morning really fast because she's so excited to go to work/school and see him. he imagines what it would be like if he would confront her with what he thinks he nows: "why would you bother to hang around [with me]?" meaning 'don't try to hide it from me, it's clear anyway, why do you even need me'. but he doesn't confront her because he manages to convince himself it can't happen because the other guy has the worst taste in music.

easy to relate to for me.
