| So I have been studying this sing for my a level and I have came up with the most accurate decision. Oli has written it about our lives being controlled by a force, either a god or by the government. He speaks about we believe everything we are told and we have to obey it as there is no escape from it. 'I'm sick to death of swallowing everything I'm fed' shows how he is being told how to live his life and he has no say or no freedom/ no choice on how to live his life. As if he is under control and has to obey all the laws and rules and everything else; he shows how there is no escape from this through the words *United we'll fail, Divided we will fall.* He makes it out as if he is the lead voices of an army of people showing he is not alone with this decision! He makes it sound like an anthem and the way he shows there is a big group of people with him on this is through the crowd in the background shouting *UP!* and *f*CK.* He also says how we have had to live with it and how our children are being controlled since they were born and always will be controlled. 'The world is a shit whole your children are f*cked.' Yeah basically! We are controlled and we are sick of it. That's basically it! I could go on for longer but I do not want to make this message to long and I'd go into in dept note analysis so I think I should stop here :'D. | |
