This is what interpret the song as: I think this song is about a guy who always gets screwed over by people and he does not know why. When people screw him over, he starts blaming himself and he gets really upset and frustrated. People always get his hopes up and then they let him down. He loses himself in the process of trying to make friends. He does whatever he can to try and keep them around. This guy doesnt get anything out of these short term friendships, he doesnt learn his lesson or anything. He is extremely dependent on other people in life. "Ive lost a part of me cause I am just an open book for everyone to see." Here, he is saying that he lost part of himself and who he really is in the process of trying to make friends and keep them. "I might be temporarily blind but im not stupid." This means that deep down, he knows he shouldnt change himself and be someone hes not to get friends. But he is so desperate that he is blinded by it all. "Can you tell me how you feel and look me in the face?" Here, he is asking one of his fake friends to just be honest with him and stop being fake. He just wants to be like everyone else. Overall, he doesnt understand why he cant make any friends or why people always screw him over. It seems that everytime he makes a friend, they are good for a while and then all of a sudden they leave him. In reality, he doesnt want to admit it but he has a disorder where hes obsessed with people and being liked. He has compulsive urges to make friends and those short term friendships alwags seem to die. It drives him literally crazy. That was my interpretation :) |

| I believe Danny wrote this with so much emotion. I feel like its about him not wanting to play metal music anymore. Like he wanted to move on but he felt bad for leaving his band mates behind. He didnt know what to do and he felt hopeless, like he had no way out. He was stuck in this pain of not wanting to do metal music as his career but he felt bad leaving his band mates behind. He didnt know what to do. He just wanted to pack up and leave to get away from this terrible decision he had to make. He moved on. The old danny liked metal music and he loved his career, until he changed. So i think this was Danny saying goodbye to the band members and his fans of AA. This was his heartfelt goodbye to the band. | |

I think this song is about a relationship gone downhill as time went on. And the guy feels like he basically wasted his time on feeling sad and wanting to kill himself over her for all the time he was with her. "Cant you let things be? And now thats left is misunderstandings, spent my nights wishing i was gone, my dad was right we would never get along." Hes telling her (after he broke up with her), how he felt about their relationship and how he feels now. He just wants to move on from that terrible relationship and all thats left between them is nothing but misunderstanding. He tells her that he spent most of his nights they fought and argued that he wish he was dead cus he was so in love with her and all he wanted was to be happy with her. And even his dad could see that they werent good together. "Cause things could never be the same, this is the last time, this is the last time youll ever burden me." Hes saying here that things will never work out between them because their relationship is so broke. And he wont be burdened by the sadness of their relationship anymore when he breaks up with her. "I cant believe you got the best of me, i cant believe i trusted every word you said, its all finally making sense, you took whats left of my innocence." Hes saying he cant believe she got the best of him and he did everythig for her and she treated him like shit. He trusted her. Now its finally making sense that he deserves better than her. "Cant you act your age? Is it that hard to say what youre thinking? Lately my lifes moving way too fast, youd drag me down if id let you hold me back." Hes telling her to grow up and tell him how she feels. Shes not saying anything though because she doesnt know what to say. And he says if he stays with her then his life would stand still and he wouldnt move forward. "What a mess youve made, and you hide from it at the bars you frequent." Here hes telling her to look at what she has done to him and stop hiding from it. Thats my opinion on what it means |

This sounds like its about a kid thats been bullied his whole life and this song is like his suicide note to his mom and family. "What will the children say when im dead and buried?" He wonders what the kids that bullied him will say and think when hes dead and buried. |

I think this song is about a relationship, and the guy is trying to make something of himself, and move forward with his life, with the love of his life by his side. But the girl seems to be holding him back from him being successful. And he just wants to have a moment to himself to move forward and hes overwhelmed with balancing his girlfriend and his career path. When he says leave all the lights on, hes saying he wants her to stay with him. And when he says maybe ill find my way back home, he means maybe he can find a way to work the whole situation out. He just needs some time to himself to figure out his future. He wishes things could go back to the way things were, when they were young and they didnt have alot of responsibility apose to now, that they are older. And they were so sure they would be okay in the future. And this gets him down. I love this song, good job ADTR :) |
