To me, this song is about taking the decision to finally end a long relationship, after doing everything you can to make it work, and it matches perfectly. | To me, this song is about missing someone you love, either because they died or they're just no longer with you. And it's about all the time you don't see them and try to get over it. Despair comes, and it stays through all the time you just waste missing that person (You're there through my wasted days, nights, years) all the time you look back and see you just wasted living in pain or regret or in auto pilot. Singer also emphasizes on the fact that missing this person hurts even more because she/he has always had fears related to loneliness. But then, after all the pain, singer realises all this can't last forever, even if it seems like a whole life he/she wasted, someday it's gonna stop, and the sun will rise (the same sun that one day his/her beloved made them see). | |

I've listened to this song so much, and the more I listen to it, the more I think it's about God. I'm not a crazy religious person, but I do believe in God and I think the whole song is written as if God spoke to us. "They'll say that nothing matters Not even your will to survive Of course I love you baby 'cause I'm alive" Talks about how the world tells us so many things that make us feel dissappointed about life itself, but his love is real. Also, obviously the "I'm alive" part is about how God didn't die back in the cross. "Disgrace all sacred promise With no belief Oh how I believe in you" This part I think is about how sometimes what the world teaches is contrary to his sacred promises, and also that he always believes in us, and will always be there for us. Anyways, really love this song. |
