I read it as though he is struggling being there for his friend(possibly loved one) because of his tendency to isolate and withhold himself...as though in the first part of the song he is discussing himself. His friend loves him, but covers their eyes to leave because they are hurt. He wants his friend to stay and promises that they will both find the light...From what I know about Tyler Joseph, that just feels right to me. |
