"A shadow tilts its head at me Spirits in the dark are waiting", I think Tyler is implying mental demons/ blurryface, waiting in the dark for a chance to control his thoughts "Be the one, be the one To take my soul and make it undone Be the one, be the one To take me home and show me the sun I know, I know You can bring the fire, I can bring the bones I know, I know You make the fire in my bones, and make it grow" He is talking to God, take him home to heaven maybe? Make his soul undone because god is such a confusing, awe-filled entity (?) "bring the fire" meaning rekindle Tylers faith, "I can bring the bones" meaning he will bring himself/give himself to restore his faith, and to make his soul grow .. "Where we're from There's no sun Our hometown's in the dark Where we're from We're no one Our hometown's in the dark Our hometown's in the dark" I think hometown = heaven, and its "in the dark" because so many are turning away from God, and not believing. "where we're from" is said maybe because both Josh and Tyler are christians "Put away, All the gods your father served today Put away, Your traditions, believe me when I say We don't know, How to put back the power in our soul..We don't know, Where to find what once was in our bones" I think this means that you should forget about all the false gods that you may be led to believe...idk what's meant by traditions...."how to put the power back in our bones....where to find what once was in our bones" we don't know how to restore our faith in god, or where to look because society has changed so much and there's so many people who don't believe that its hard to find the path to God now.. I'm sorry this was so long, I tried to cover everything I thought(: I also think it could be referencing depression/suicide-like themes but this theory was the first that came to mind....all said was just my interpretation, yours could be completely different and still be correct, that's the great thing about music xD thanks for reading if you did |
