This describes a girl I know who has secret sorrows and is very vulnerable. I like the songtext, but not the part about "But if allowed just one possession I would pick her from the garden, to be mine". This girl should not be possessed by someone, and should never be picked to die. She should either be carefully planted in a sunny garden. Or even better you should be a gardener who goes into the wild garden where she lives, and then keep away the destructive forces that will pick her, and carefully remove the big weeds that will overgrow her. Make sure that she can florish and grow. Love is not about owning somebody; real love is not self-seeking, it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. |

I have been playing this song on repeat most of the day, and it still phantastic and gives me a warm feeling. My clear opinion is that this song is about a girl that is crying quietly and the guy realizes that it is because of him and is deeply touched. He gets tears in his eyes too, because he understands her pain and wants to comfort her. And those tears are the deepest proof of understanding. (by the way, is there somebody that has the original lyrics?; I would like to know if it is "for you, the truth" or "for you, the true" as I hear it as "true") |

I agree totally with oujwells about the "sad-eyed stare". Why does nobody else realize that? Another expression that is misunderstood on ALL lyrics sites is "star-crossed". The expression "star-crossed" just means that you are in love with somebody but she is in love with somebody else - in this case she is "in love" with her drugs. | I long had this song linked to our 20year old car. Cars have personality, especially if you had them for many years. And ours is definitely the only one in Denmark with 3 roof bars, it also has a soft skin (paint) and I often hang my coat up in the first bar, exactly as in the song.
