I just read these lyrics now and it seemed very clear to me that it is about someone who is always late for appointment. Everything fits, he asks the late man where he has been and he's like "sorry I was late but I was doing this and that and some more". And he feels he's talking to the wind cause his friend doesn't listen to his request about being on time. The wind cannot hear, he's talking to deaf ears. He sees this person as very confused and untidy or chaotic. And he's getting upset and feels the late man are wasting his time (and in a way trying to indirectly take possession of his life) That's my opinion. Of course I could be wrong but this is what the song is about for me from now on at least |
