I guess '9' means 9 years. In 2004 Michael betrayes his friends. Game comes out in 2013, so actual story must have been happening in 2013 too. Lines "One is none, None is two" might mean that their team is not full anymore, not without Brad. And "Nine to breathe inside your lungs" means that Michael had been kinda 'free' this 9 years until Trevor found him. So, I also believe that in first verse this is Michael telling us what and why had he did to Brad. The same second verse - this is Brads speaking to us.
