I believe the song is about being in love with the wrong person or being in love with someone that you may have, in the beginning, been on the same path, however over time you have moved in opposite directions. She still has hope however doesn't feel reciprocated on his end. I believe the words 'il be leaving soon' reciprocate the fact that she knows it's not right and she should walk away. However the bridge of 'I'm dancing in the room as if I was in the woods with you' means she is holding onto hope, remembering what it was and hoping it could be that again hence the 'hope that you won't hurt me' There's many definitions to the powerful lyrics portrayed in this song. This is my thoughts on how it resignates with me in my current situation. |
