I think this song is about how "the man" is always asking for more and even when you give everything you have you still must give more and how even though the speaker is depressed and "awful" "the man" loves he/she because "the man can manipulate them more. |

SO I used to kind of see this as a suicide note but recently my baby brother died and now I think this song is like a goodbye forever to a late family member or friend and another reason that I thought about is Gerard is a catholic so to me a lot of this is him talking about the dead person shining in heaven looking down on him. But that's just my opinion! |

I imagine this as a inferior force that is fighting a superior force and even though they know they will probably die they still have the mindset to fight till the very last man and take as many of the enemy down with them as they can. |
