John Lennon – Watching The Wheels Lyrics 1 year ago
@[srkeegan:50832] I signed in just to answer a 13 year old comment.

I was fired from my job 8 years ago. I used to be a director, had an office with a window view, etc.

I never did actually thought how I was supposed to keep on going when I lost "my professional life". Turns out I hated it, I just didn't know it.

I now work as an individual contributor in a company I love, with people I care about. I "lost" all the benefits of being in my old position, and regained control of my life. I actually talk to my wife and play with my son.

I'm no longer riding on the merry-go-round and I couldn't be happier about it. I'd never go back to my old life. I just had to let it go.

Queen – Was It All Worth It Lyrics 9 years ago
Freddie knew he had AIDS ever since the A Kind of Magic tour days. This was the first album where he openly talked about his illness, although non directly. Yes, AIDS has all to do with this song. Freddie is wondering whether his "Godforsaken life" had been worth it,

This line makes it all clear:

"We served a purpose, like a bloody circus"

It's past tense, not as in "We serve". Freddie wondered whether this was his final album, although he was still not in his final stages of his illness.

The song is basically Mercury trying to reaffirm his life choices.
