I don't think it's about love, as we understand it. It is about the type of love God gives us. Given that he had a very tough time after being on australian idol, i believe he went truly seeking within him what was a reason worth living and playing music. It certainly wasn't the people necessarily, In fact he says he will love people whether or not they will accept him. This song is about finding the true meaning of life, or at least his version of the meaning. As he says, he doesn't yet have all the answers, i think that is where the 'confusion' or lack of confidence is sensed in the lyrics. But his desire for love--the true sense of the word--has become his reason to connect with people better. It has become his answer to life and pain. It has become his resolution. |
