On my opinion this song is about fame and the impact it has on artists' personality. The lyrics hilight the fact that when you're on stage you're somehow someone else, and that it might be quite difficult to forget about the spotlights and the adulating crowd once the show is over. When he says "Don't wanna be trapped in a disguise" Tobias clearly express the struggle to keep being yourself once you've become famous. This song strongly reminds me of Springsteen who once said the greatest gift the fans can give to their favourite artists is to considerate them as their equals, so that they would be able to keep their feet on the ground. |
