@[griffon651:22120] Edit here - I looked up the song on wikipedia and there is a note stating that Mike started writing this before Bennington was even in the band. "Mike Shinoda began writing the song before he met Bennington based on another close friend's drug addiction.". |

@[griffon651:22119] I agree, and now incredibly sadly confirmed, years after this song was written. Also, I think Chester's use of the word "Tonight" really adds a lot of power and poignancy to the lyrics If he would have said anything else, the line would not be as powerful, but "tonight" really evokes a lot here just that word. anyway, the world lost a great artist. |

1. This is one of the hardest hitting most bad A rock songs of all time and one of my favorite LP songs. The interplay between Shinodas rap/singing and Bennington powerful melodic screams is just phenomenal, to backing of dynamic music.
2. I think this song is about interplay of push-pull in a relationship and weak self esteem of a person who "martyrs" them self and pushes someone away; maybe they really don't want the relationship, but then it hits that they REALLY did push them away and they feel regret over it. |
