@[Urinalysis:15380] "Do you know what something that tries not to be something is? An attempt at nothing" So... if a person attempts not to be a murderer, that's an attempt at nothing? They should just go ahead and murder? Nihilism: it doesn't mean what you think it means. |

@[pnew:14091] If people are intellectually honest with themselves they've truly let in the thought that there isn't a god. Staring that doubt in the face it can be frightening and even overwhelming, the thought that there may not be a loving god waiting for us on the other side of their final breath. Your " one final heart-break" is the one where your heart stops, at death. Even if you believe in god, you are still blind to what lies beyond that final breath. I don't care how strong your faith is, everyone has doubts. No one knows for sure what is beyond that final breath until it leaves their body. In the meantime, this life is FULL of heart breaks, whether you've "let go of everything earthly" or not. No one is immune to having their hearts broken over and over and over again. It doesn't stop just because you "let go and let god". Life will kick you in the face regardless. And proclaiming belief/faith in god is like putting on a giant bulls eye. This song is about overcoming all of that and holding to faith in spite of it, right through your final heart break. |

I think this song is pretty self-explanatory, although different people's experiences can lead them to have their own interpretations. But the general theme is the same regardless of experience. "Everybody goes through this" is a common sentiment that is expressed to someone who might be going through a tough time or tough experience. But I'm not everybody. I have my own shoes to walk in and they don't belong to anyone but me. No one else is ever going to walk in my shoes just like I'm never going to walk in someone else's shoes. We each have our own path to go down. That's the truth of "everybody goes through this". Everybody goes their own path. You just hope to encounter people whose paths go somewhat parallel to your own. Anyway... this song is all about someone not wanting to exhaust themselves trying to live someone else's life or someone else's ideal for their life. Not everyone is fit to be president. Not everyone is fit to be filthy rich. Not everyone is fit to be fit. Not everyone is fit to the bullshit. |
