| A-Ha – The Living Daylights Lyrics | 9 years ago |
A homage to Maryam D'Abo. Should we reduce her to her fake hair color? "Save the darkness, let it never fade away..." and "Seems your hopes are way too high, living's in the way we dye." I guess they would have called the song "The bleached highlights" if the emberassing joke wouldn't come so subtle: going blind, you know from what?! In German, we would say: "Das Licht ausknipsen." Hundredthousand chord changes and still nothing is new here. James Bond movies are actually black comedies because of the impact they have on minors and juveniles. In their attempt to be like James Bond, they in fact only behave like complete fools. |

| Toto – Africa Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Hoping to find some long forgotten words or ancient melodies They banned the past and the possibilities in music are exhausted. He turned to me as if to say, "Hurry boy, it's waiting there for you" It's gonna take a life to take me away from U U-music, in German, is "entertainment music", in opposite to serious arts. There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do Nothing is new here and any creative improvement would be an immense expense. I guess it drains now in Africa Even when you never listened to the radio, music will start to bore you at some point. Gonna take some time to do the things we never had Because they were bored, they did "cold raw" and put the computer on ice for some decades. They were bored from TV. The white doves cry out in the night Made me associate the song with the Apartheid regime, which i suppose was in fact only part of the show. A metaphor for peace?! A cheap sentimental over-dramatization i would guess. As they grow restless, longing for some solitary company I know that I must do much right I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of how disdained have I've become He got to keep his passion, rise above ideas of romance and be perfectionistic. A song about boredom. That's what it means to me. If you shared my conclusions, you probably would come to a similar interpretation. |

| Failure – Bernie Lyrics | 9 years ago |
It's about a happy homeless being which is happy because there's alcohol. I understood: "All we got to do is just drop dimes". It's the cynical realization that you don't need society or culture to lead a happy life because you can receive luck through substance abuse. |

| Gladys Knight – License to Kill Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Tina Turner sung the next Bond song, why not also this one? The voices are very similar. Now i understood that she could be fooling the sick jealousy of Ike Turner. It is said that he mistreated her. However, sometimes cigarette burns are involved in mistreatment. And this will ruin your skin. So you should perhaps not start smoking. I like the song better when i think about the sociological consequences of jealous behaviour. One chicane is that you don't have the license to "smoke" anymore. "Smoking Kills". You stil have the license to go to war and see how "James Bond-like" you feel there anyway... |

| Them – It's All Over Now Baby Blue Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Lately, i start to like songs about the "crime" genre. Police uniforms are baby blue. I guess this song is about being arrested because of murder, and then it's all over. You can never know where lightning strikes because there are so many people with uncontrollable emotions, but when it actually happens, it's always shit. So they air songs like that on the radio a billion times and hope that it contributes to deescalation. And the song is so sad, it feels like suffocating when you imagine. I guess it's also a warning. At least it's not a silly love song. |

| The Alan Parsons Project – Eye In The Sky Lyrics | 9 years ago |
I guess it's about being sentenced to death. "Eye in the Sky" could refer to the eye of justice which is watching all over us. It's about guilt. In 1984, the government is opressive and hateful. But these lyrics appear to be more about a justified punishment of someone who really commited a bad crime. |
