An excellent song about how a dysfunctional group of friends become bored of each other, and their friendship stops being worth anything anymore. You all know how everyone thinks and what they say even before they say it. If you try to start a new conversation or do something with your life, the group actively discourages you from changing and trying something new. You are tired of their same old arguments and their same old way of doing things, which doesn’t lead anywhere. I had great friends at college, but it just went this way. I realised I didn’t want to spend every weekend getting drunk while talking about same things over and over and partying. Some of my friends wanted nothing else. Instead of spending time together and having fun, we started bickering, and the members glinging to the bag (our group of friends) the most actively ridiculed any attempts to change behavior. The bag stopped being worth anything. Most of us left the group and started families, others were left holding the empty bag — still living as if before, even though most of the group is gone. |

Blood Eagling was a form of execution reserved for nobility in a viking society for especially horrible crimes, such as murdering the family of another member of the nobility. The ribcage is sliced and hacked open from the back, separating the ribs from the spine. Lungs are then pulled out from the openings and set on the victims shoulders like the folded wings of an eagle. The victim dies eventually by suffocation, as the muscles needed to breathe are unable to pump the air in and out of the lungs. Not a pleasant way to die. |
