i like a few of these interpretations. this is my favorite song and i always thought it was about accepting adversity, making the best of it and not losing touch of what's real to us. yeah, she seems to be saying, there's a lot of bad in the world, and it burns us and scars us. but all most of us can do to deal with it is shave the bad parts away and go enjoy the sunlight. |

@[21Minute:9078] i think this interpretation works on one level, but lorde has stated over and over that her passion as an artist is "putting words together," so i tend to suspect her lyrics operate on more than one level. |
