It totally does have spiritual inferences. He could be speaking to a girl or a friend or a family member, but the story arc is simply that they will be safe and sound because there is a higher power at work and he knows this. It is not putting a square peg into a round hole because the spiritual is simply part of who we are as human beings. Unless you are a naturalist. Or a deist. |
