Tonight I was thinking about my late partner while painting & listening to random music. It's been 6.5yrs & I have been missing him a lot lately. So I asked him to play me a song. As the years drag by without him, I find myself wondering more &more if I will ever see him again. I asked him to speak to me in the song and if he will be waiting for me when I die ... This song came on and for what its worth, here is my interpretation: "The way you're bathed in light Reminds me of that night God laid me down into your rose garden of trust And I was swept away With nothin' left to say Some helpless fool" My partner had an abusive childhood and he grew up trusting no one. The first chorus talks about how I taught him to trust again. There is no doubt he loved me very much and I showed him how to love life in the hope he would build it with me. Incidentally, he proposed to me in a beautiful rose garden by the moonlight. He always thought he was an uneducated fool who was swept away by the woman of his dreams. On the contrary, I was always so proud to have him by my side. "Yeah I was lost in a swoon of peace You're all I need to find" Here the word describe how he felt at peace when we were together and that I was all he needed to love life again. "So when the time is right Come to me sweetly, come to me Come to me Love will lead us, alright Love will lead us, she will lead us Can you hear the dolphin's cry?" Here he is telling me that when the time is right (when I die) to go to him, and maybe if I am quiet enough, I can hear him calling. "See the road rise up to meet us It's in the air we breathe tonight Love will lead us, she will lead us" He is saying that there will be no obstacles when I come and if is sit still enough, I can feel his love in the air tonight -- which incidentally I did feel a weird sudden cool breeze out of no where earlier. "Oh yeah, we meet again It's like we never left" Here is is confirming that we will definitely meet again and it will be like we never left each other "Time in between was just a dream Did we leave this place?" Here he is saying that the when we meet again, the time we spent apart after he passed will be like a dream. Like it never happened. "This crazy fog surrounds me You wrap your legs around me All I can do to try and breathe Let me breathe so that I So we can go together!" The fog is exactly how I felt for a very long time after he died. I guess here he is telling me that he feels the same. Just keep breathing and eventually one day we will be together. "Life is like a shooting star It don't matter who you are If you only run for cover, it's just a waste of time We are lost 'til we are found This phoenix rises up from the ground And all these wars are over" Here I think he is saying life here on earth is not a long time in comparison to the afterlife. It doesn't matter who you are, we all have someone we will spend our eternity with. In the end, when the phoenix rises, we will be finally with those we love. |

| @[mistertl:30701] Totally agree & support your interpretation. My initial thoughts of the song take me back 5yrs ago to my partners tragic passing. While I don't typically read into song meanings, I find some songs are so in tune with my thoughts & feelings in the months after his passing, there def has to be a connection...hence why I'm here. | |

@[DBH1171:27141] .. I heard the conversation of a younger couple separated by death too soon. Possibly 40 something. Long enough to form a life long partnership, but death separates them before their life together is anywhere near complete. I heard myself talking to my husband, alone late at night in our big old house and his responses as they pop into my head. The lyrics in this song are almost exactly what I have said or thought in the past and what my husband would have said to me...❤RIP Baby xxx |

@[Pramirez211:22677] I like your interpretation. I'm going with yours. Thanks x Three years ago my partner passed away tragically, age 42. When this song came on just now, I got the feeling he was nearby and possibly there was a message in this song ... Strange I know, but for someone (me) who is the exact opposite of psychic, this new phenomena since he died is actually quite amazing.
