They are both willing to give themselves completely to each other as you can see, but the lyrics have also a bit of violence in it, so is not a "healthy" relationship. That's why they are running from wolves WITHOUT TEETH. They are distroing each other by staying in this toxic relationship they want to keep so badly. | |

I know the meaning of this song. The real one, not my interpretation. Many of you said it's about a relationship and love and break ups, well it's not. Like Fever Ray is ever going to write about love. The most probable reason of why you thought that is because there is one person talking about another person :"We set fire in the snow" "How do you say you're sorry?". But here's the thing. Fever Ray is taking with herself, the one who thinks its better to quit (her job, musician). What was going on in the past was that After the last album with her brother came out she talked about retiring. Now, she says in an interview: "Sometimes, when you're as old as I am now, you think you're going to quit, and people around you think you're going to quit. But then you have days when you realise how good music can be, there's so much left to explore and so much left to do. That's why I sometimes feel I'll never quit."-- This song is a gesture of defiance against Karin's own thoughts of retirement. |
