@[bittersweet1227:8583] I do, but I tried to deny it. I hoped that it meant that the dying did survive and that they did walk from the dark room for the last time to start a new life. |

@[jkun17:8582] that's exactly what I think. Or on a more depressing note, the person could be dead and the bereaved is by her side begging her to wake up "Tell me that you'll open your eyes", and doesn't believe she's gone "Away from these liars." And wanting her to wake up so badly so that they "Can do what we want anywhere".
That's on the same sort of line as yours. Your version is more cheerful. |

The leather could refer to a leather jacket or coat. "Hand me my leather" so that she can leave, she's decided to give up on the relationship that's not working. It could even be a reference to motorbike attire as she intends to leave quickly, like one would on a motorbike. This is also evident in the line "I almost ran over an angel" |

Maybe the mermaid comment refers to having no genitalia, when you think about it, a mermaid has none. Perhaps the subject of the song is momentarily supposing that her abusive partner can't touch her:
"But, what if I'm a mermaid?" then I would have no genitalia so you couldn't rape me, so she's saying "What if you can't rape me?" |
