Oasis – Champagne Supernova Lyrics 7 years ago
This song kind of has new meaning to me, because the line "dream a dream she never does" really hit me lately. my childhood friend died a month ago, and just last night I had a dream that he never died...

Champagne Supernova was inspired by the fact that the writer was seeing so many bars open up with the name Champagne Supernova.

I would use this song for a movie. The setting is a guy in a room getting high with his friends to escape the tragedy of a friend he lost. As he is in a trance, he's talking to his friend like he's still alive.

"How many special people change, how many lives are living strange"

Him and his friend always got high, but they never ever got to the point where they did anything harmful... but his friend started to go down a different path. She changed.

When he's slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannon ball, he's running to the ER where his friend is, who soon thereafter died from an overdose.

"Someday you will find me caught beneath the landslide, in a champagne supernova in the sky."

Someday you will help me through the times where I feel like I'm falling, and I can't stop falling, and you'll do it while you're in the place we used to hang out. Because he imagines his friend is in a place similar to the one they always used to have fun at.

"Wake up the dawn and ask her why
A dreamer dreams, she never dies
Wipe that tear away now from your eye"

He's imagining talking to her, asking her why she did this, wishing she never died. He imagines she's crying because she felt she let him down, but he reassures her he'll be fine.

He goes to a memory like that of them in a field under the summer sun, spinning around like children, spinning around. Giving the imagery like time just can't stand still, it fades to just him. As he says why why why, he slowly drops to his knees as the backdrop fades to black. He's now by his friend's bedside.

@[thelegendarybon:8519] This interpretation hit home. I just broke down.

After reading this, I don't need to read any other interpretations. I'll be forever convinced this is it.
