| Three – Rabid Animals Lyrics | 9 years ago |
| This song is definitely about two soldiers in World War 1. I can't tell for certain, but I think the song is from the point of view of a survivor with severe PTSD. He is singing about his comrade, whom I think is a combat engineer or a radio operator that he has been assigned to defend. I think the friend dies at some point, likely from a chemical weapon or cocaine overdose. He says "how can you laugh while they eat me alive", but what I think is actually happening in that line is that his mate has died and the method in which they have died has left a permanent grin on their corpse. The supposed feeling of betrayal by their dead comrade is a mask for the survivor's guilt that the main character feels. At least, that's my thought. It is definitely about WWI, but the rest is just my best theory at this time. ^w^ | |
