Mystery Jets – Half In Love With Elizabeth Lyrics | 8 years ago |
Some of you said that it could be about a man obsessed with money or career, there was also a great idea about the military, but could it on some level just be one giant reference to James Bond movies? "When I kill I kill for Queen and country" and all that? The visual descriptions in the lyrics seem very similar to the animated title sequences: objects turning into one another, veils, paper butterflies, envelopes etc. If so, it could also be a comment on masculinity in general, this more 'formal' side of a man, "sleeping in his clothes"? Or a fantasy (bubble) of a man reinforced by such films? |

I think the echo after 'misunderstood' is not just an echo, it's a translated 'capisce' (certainly makes sense considering the mafia references) |
